Parent-led pain management to Optimize neonatal Pain care

Hospitalized newborns are subjected to a number of painful procedures every day, with a risk of short- and long term consequences. It is well-known that parent engagement is one of the most effective ways to reduce pain in newborns, yet there is a large knowledge-to-practice gap before parent-led pain management is implemented in all neonatal units.

POP is a multinational research project aiming to explore reasons for this shortcoming and to develop tools for neonatal units to improve their practices, giving parents a natural place in their infant's pain management.

POP is built by parents, researchers and clinicians in a common effort to improve neonatal pain management.
