Palomaa

RN, MNSc

I graduated a pediatric nurse in 1998, and I have primarily worked in neonatal care since 2001. I’ve had an interest in family-centered care and neonatal pain for the past decade. I completed my master’s degree studies in 2015 at University of Oulu and wrote my master’s thesis on parental participation in neonatal pain alleviation.

Currently, I am working as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit in Oulu University Hospital. I am involved in several development projects related to family-centered care and pediatric pain. I also act as a content provider in the advanced studies of neonatal nurses.

In the future, my goal is to continue the studies. My research interest is still focused on the neonatal pain, parental participation and family-centered care
